Beautifully preserved monasteries and Christian shrines astonish with the skillful processing of stone, while the craved crosses cross-stones are several thousand years old. The Armenian alphabet has existed without any changes for over 1600 years and that is why the art of Armenian writing is included in UNESCO's list of cultural heritage.
